The establishment of this new center marked SUSONITY’s completion of the centralized integration of its R&D and customer service system in Germany and the realization of full-chain integrated operation of R&D, product development and terminal technical support in the Frankfurt. It is an important milestone since SUSONITY began operating as an independent business unit of Global New Material International in August 2025. It is also an important strategic achievement of the group’s rooting in the European market and deepening its global innovation and R&D layout.

What is the Innovation and Application Center and what does it do?

The newly established SUSONITY Innovation and Application Center, located in Building G875 of the Hochst Industrial Park in Germany, is the core carrier for integrating European R&D resources and optimizing regional service capabilities. The centre brings together nearly a hundred professional R&D personnel and for the first time centralizes and unifies the teams of the four core business segments in the German region – R&D, industrials, coatings, and cosmetics – completely breaking the previous pattern of decentralized business operations and significantly enhancing internal collaboration efficiency and external service response speed.

As a comprehensive platform that integrates R&D innovation, product iteration and customer technology empowerment, the Innovation and Application Center builds a complete closed-loop system from laboratory technology research and development to market application, covering a wide range of high-end application fields such as coating and paint formula research and development, cosmetics and personal care materials, food, pharmaceuticals, printing inks, specialty plastics and high-safety materials. With the advantage of global layout, SUSONITY has now built an innovation and application network covering three major regions in Europe, America and Asia, gathering many senior technical experts in the industry. The upgrade and landing of the Frankfurt Innovation and Application Center further solidifies the company’s core hub position in the European innovation network.

Precise execution of cross-city relocation and full guarantee of customer service

The relocation from the scattered complex of the old Darmstadt site to the Hochst industrial park is a systematic project involving precision equipment and continuous operation. To achieve resource efficiency, we initiated an overall relocation and upgrade project, coordinating the entire process of transporting, disassembling, debugging and system restoration of large precision equipment, including printing presses, plastic extruders, injection molding machines, professional spray booths, high-precision surface scanners and other core R&D equipment.

During the relocation, SUSONITY German technical team was on duty throughout and continuously provided uninterrupted technical support and services to global customers, achieving smooth progress in both the project upgrade and customer service. The entire relocation and integration was successfully completed in May 2026.

Build a high ground for overseas research and development and open up new horizons for materials science and technology

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, representatives and guests from government, enterprises and industry bench-marking companies visited the newly upgraded laboratory, R&D equipment and office area together to gain an in-depth understanding of SUSONITY Europe’s innovation R&D layout and technology development plan.

Dr. Carsten Plugg, Head of innovation and Applications at SUSONITY, said:

“With the opening of our new Innovation and Applications Centre in Hochst, Frankfurt, we bring together laboratories, applied technology expertise and R&D in one place. This not only accelerates collaboration and shortens the project coordination cycle, but also enables our customers to turn their ideas into practical applications more quickly and with greater confidence. Completing this move sent a strong signal to our team, this base and SUSONITY’s long-term innovation in Germany.”

Dr Alexander Wagner, Managing Director of Infraserv Hochst, said:

“We are very pleased to welcome SUSONITY and its Center for Innovation and Applications to the Hochst industrial Park. Their choice to settle here is a testament to the park’s appeal as one of Europe’s top chemical innovation hubs. With our expertise in licensing, planning and facility renovation, we were able to create tailor-made laboratories and research infrastructure that precisely met the needs of our clients.”

The integration and upgrade of Innovation and Application Center marked an important milestone in the deepening of Global New Material International’s internationalization strategy. Embedding the R&D and application center deeply into Hochst, a top European industrial hub, is not a simple geographical layout but a strategic binding: taking European high-end industrial ecosystem as soil, continuously diving into the cutting-edge technologies of specialty materials; With localized technical service capabilities, strengthen long-term stickiness with downstream industries and high-end customers in Europe. Based on the core location of Frankfurt, this center radiates synchronously to SUSONITY’s three regional innovation networks in Europe, America and Asia, becoming the core platform for Global New Material International to deliver high-quality material technology solutions to global customers.

Since SUSONITY was incorporated into the Global New Material International, its R&D resources have been consolidated and its business boundaries have continued to expand. This comprehensive upgrade of the Innovation and Application Center is a concentrated manifestation of the effectiveness of this integration.
