Recently, under the guidance of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the National Manufacturing Strategy Advisory Committee, the Catalogue of Innovation and Development of Industrial Base(2021 Edition) prepared by the China’s Expert Committee on Industrial Foundation was officially released. According to the needs of national economic development, national defense security and people’s happiness, the Catalogue of Innovation and Development of Industrial Base(2021 Edition) chooses 21 key fields, including textiles, new materials, communication equipment, basic software and industrial software, machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment and robots, environmental protection low-carbon and equipment for comprehensive utilization of resources. The products and technologies listed are the core of China’s industrial basic development, which has important value. Synthetic mica was selected into the catalogue of relevant products and technologies in the field of building materials in the Catalogue of Innovation and Development of Industrial Base(2021 Edition).

Made from domestic raw materials by melting and cooling crystallization, synthetic mica is a kind of inorganic non-metallic two-dimensional sheet material. Compared with natural mica, synthetic mica has more advantages such as high temperature resistance (up to 1200 ℃), higher resistivity (1000 times higher), more acid-base resistance, transparency, separability and elasticity. It can be widely used in modern industries such as aviation, aerospace, metallurgy, electronics, the chemical industry, textile, cosmetics, plastic products, coatings, building materials, new energy and other high-tech fields such as national defense. Its market has great potential for development. The inclusion of synthetic mica in China’s Catalogue of Innovation and Development of Industrial Base(2021 Edition) is also a major strategic initiative to solve the gradual depletion of natural mica resources.

Synthetic mica material is a new material, with high research and development difficulties, high added value, high technical barriers, and there is a shortage of supply in the market. Global New Material International (Chesir) has a complete set of core technologies for synthetic mica, and has a number of patented technologies of synthetic mica. Its core technologies and R & D strength are widely recognized in the industry. The company’s patented technology of synthetic mica has also won many provincial and ministerial awards, among which the preparation method of conductive mica won the gold award of Guangxi invention and creation achievement, and the preparation method of wet synthesis of KMg3(AlSi3O10)F2 crystal powder won the silver award of Guangxi invention and creation achievement.

With the leading technology of synthetic mica , the company became the undertaking unit of the project of synthetic mica, a strategic emerging material of the “industrial strong foundation project” of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the people’s Republic of China in 2015. At present, Chesir’s project of synthetic mica with an annual output of 50,000 tons is under construction. After the project is completed and put into operation, the company will become one of the largest synthetic mica production bases in the world.

Never stops exploration, never ends innovation! The selection of synthetic mica in China’s Catalogue of Innovation and Development of Industrial Base(2021 Edition) will greatly promote the development of synthetic mica and its upstream and downstream related industries. Global New Materials International (Chesir) will focus on increasing the research and development investment of synthetic mica in the application field of pearlescent materials and new energy battery materials, promote the application of green production technology of synthetic mica, and further promote the development and upgrading of synthetic mica industry.
