[Company News] On June 4, 2025, the first phase of the rooftop distributed photovoltaic project of Chesir., a subsidiary of Global New Material International, was successfully connected to the grid for power generation, marking a key breakthrough for the company in upgrading its green manufacturing system. The project has a peak installed capacity of 5.9 megawatts (MWp). It adopts the BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) + “self-consumption priority, surplus electricity fed into grid” model, which will bring considerable green and economic benefits to the company.
This grid connection is a typical case of Chesir actively seeking changes and overcoming difficulties under structural constraints, given that the first phase of the factory was built more than ten years ago, and the original design did not reserve photovoltaic load capacity. Amid carbon neutrality policies and energy transition trends, the company proactively addresses practical challenges by investing special funds in roof structure reinforcement and energy system adaptation and transformation, ultimately completing the “last mile” of green transformation.
“Active Creation” of High-Quality Green Manufacturing
As a national green factory recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chesir has always adhered to the ESG concept throughout the entire production and operation process. The success of this grid-connected power generation is not only a technological upgrade of energy structure, but also a reflection of the green development strategy from concept to actual effect:
- Tangible Economic Benefits: The average annual power generation is about 6 million kilowatt hours, which is expected to save millions of yuan in electricity bills every year, optimize the energy consumption structure and enhance cost resilience.
- Significant Environmental Contributions: It is expected to save 1,550 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 5,120 tons every year, which is equivalent to planting 10,699 new trees, effectively reducing carbon emissions.
- Operational Synergy Advantages: Photovoltaic modules form a high-efficiency thermal insulation layer, which is expected to reduce factory temperature by 3-5 °C, reduce air-conditioning energy consumption, improve working environment for employee, extend roof life, and reduce maintenance costs.
- Robust Solar Resource Assurance: The factory has high-quality solar energy resources, stable photovoltaic operation, promising long-term returns, and regional demonstration value.
A model project to create a green intelligent manufacturing system
This project is not only a green energy project, but also a “touchstone” for Chesir to promote the systematic reconstruction of green manufacturing. The successful completion of grid connection on the rooftop of the “unqualified” factory not only verified the company’s technical capabilities in green transformation, but also reflected the management’s firm judgment and execution of the sustainable development path.
“It’s not an excuse that you can’t install photovoltaics on the rooftop. No matter how difficult the structure is, we must create conditions for green development. ”
–Su Ertian, Board Chairman of Global New Material International
Next step: from “one project” to “one system”
Chesir will take this rooftop photovoltaic grid connection as a starting point to comprehensively promote green manufacturing upgrades and ESG governance improvements, and gradually build a systematic green operation system that integrates “energy conservation and carbon reduction + intelligent manufacturing + resource recycling” to inject continuous power for creating a modern green enterprise.
Going forward, Global New Material International will continue to make efforts following the “dual carbon” vision to empower green development and jointly draw a high-quality development picture of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
